Sentimental Journey, the Commemorative Air Force’s historic B-17G Flying Fortress, is coming to the Lincoln Regional Airport for six unforgettable days of tours, rides, and special events.
The WWII-era bomber, now based in Mesa, Arizona, was delivered to the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1945 for combat and later used for training, testing, and air-sea rescue. In 1978, it was donated to the CAF, fully restored, and is now part of the CAF’s national ‘Flying Legends of Victory’ tour.

Celebrating the B-17 VIP Hangar Dinner & Private B-17 Experience
In addition to the tour stop’s aircraft ground tour and aerial experience, join us on Saturday, September 19th, for the B-17 Benefit Dinner at a Lincoln Airport hangar. Seating is limited for this private event, so sign up now to reserve your seat.
The catered BBQ event will include a ground tour of the aircraft and talks by tour pilots and crew, as well as by Taigh Ramey, the technical consultant for the epic TV series Masters of the Air, produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. We will screen sections from the series with Taigh’s backstory commentary.
Dress the part: Make the evening even more memorable by arriving in your favorite WWII-era attire. Whether you go full 1940s or simply add a vintage touch, guests are encouraged to join the fun. Prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed.

Ground tours are available at Lincoln Regional Airport, 1480 Flight Line Drive, Lincoln, CA 95648, Tuesday through Thursday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Friday through Sunday, 2 pm to 5 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $10 per adult or $20 for a family (up to four).
Net proceeds from the Celebrating the B-17 dinner will benefit the Commemorative Air Force, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of America’s military aviation heritage.
