Participants willing to commit the time required for the program and group class project


The Investment
Tuition for Leadership Lincoln is $495 for Chamber members and $595 for non-members. Each applicant pays a $50 application fee. The remaining balance must be paid in full by the participant’s employer or sponsoring organization prior to the first class.

One of the greatest benefits of Leadership Lincoln is the meaningful connections you’ll make—with fellow participants, presenters, and community leaders. The time commitment is manageable: just one day a month for nine months. And the cost is significantly less than a typical university course. Why Leadership Lincoln?
Leadership Lincoln is a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth. Over nine months, you’ll explore how Lincoln works—from local government and nonprofits to education and business—and discover ways to get involved as a community leader. Each monthly session features engaging speakers, interactive workshops, and behind-the-scenes tours of key institutions throughout Lincoln and Placer County.
Participants come from a wide range of industries across Lincoln and Placer County—including business, education, nonprofits, local government, and entrepreneurship. There’s truly something for everyone. You’ll gain insight into Lincoln’s education system from elementary through higher education, get a behind-the-scenes look at how local government works, and explore the region’s growing agri-tourism sector through hands-on tours and discussions.

Welcome Reception — September 3
Get to know your new classmates in a non-formal setting and enjoy the evening with the Steering Committee and Chamber staff.
Introduction/History of Lincoln — September 17
You’ll get a glimpse into leadership. Hear details of the leadership class, expectations, and start the class project dialogue. Learn about the rich history of Lincoln centered on agriculture and businesses that created our All-American City.
Lincoln Civics — October 15
Explore the challenges and constraints of the budget development process, the criminal justice system and public safety operations for the City of Lincoln. You will see the inner workings of Lincoln and the impact on residents of our county.
Civic Org/Volunteerism — November 19
Civic organizations, service clubs and volunteerism are often the heart of a community. The impact of these organizations all have common goals to educate, prepare and serve all aspects of our population.
Media and Arts — December 10
Media, as well the arts, impact the economic, cultural and social wealth of Lincoln. Presenters may include local artists, tours, theatre and media representatives.
Regional Issues/Transportation — January 21 Transportation has played an integral part in the success of Lincoln and the surrounding areas. This class is an overview of current and future plans of ground transportation in South Placer and regional air transportation in Lincoln that affects growth and the economy.
Education — February 18
Learn about education throughout Placer County from elementary to high school and higher education, including curriculum, governance, finance and accountability.
Health & Human Services — March 18
Combined class with Rocklin and Roseville Leadership How healthy is Placer County? Explore current health topics, learn about available resources and services that support our community’s health and well-being.
Agri-Tourism/Natural Resources —April 15
Discover how the County and the City of Lincoln are embracing the surge of “Agri-tourism” to the area. Tour some of our local iconic businesses and explore what powers the economy in Lincoln.
Community Leadership — May 20
Local leaders share their journeys and offer guidance on how you can apply your new leadership skills. By understanding the community, you can contribute more effectively, participate in positive change and build stronger relationships.
Graduation Breakfast — May 26
CONGRATULATIONS! You made it! Your class will present the class project to the community and receive your certificate of completion.
