If Sherry Adair is not working, you can find her in her yard gardening, in Mexico on vacation or at one of her non-profits helping and encouraging. Sherry is a native Californian, born in Vallejo to a family with 3 brothers. She realized early in life that she wanted to become a nurse so she enrolled in nursing school right after graduating from high school. She became a nurse at 21 and began her career at Kaiser Hospital in her hometown. Soon she became an R.N. and worked “float” for Kaiser so she was exposed to many different areas including ER, Labor & Delivery, and Orthopedics to name a few. She decided to make a change after 20 years at Kaiser and took a position in Home Care with Maxim Healthcare in 2001.
She moved to Lincoln with her husband, Dudley, in 2007. Home Care involved long hours and her patients just seemed to be getting sicker, so the frustration with sick care increased more and more. In October 2008, Sherry was introduced to Take Shape For Life, a company interested in creating optimal health. She realized quickly that this company shared her passion for health and helping others. As her friends, family, and co-workers saw the change in her life, they also wanted to create health for themselves so Sherry decided in July of 2009 to leave Maxim for Take Shape For and leave sick care for true health care.
With that same passion for health and helping others still burning brightly inside her, she joined the chamber in December of 2011 and became an ambassador in November of 2012. She loves animals, especially dogs, so she volunteers her time at Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue. She an active grandmother with 9 grandchildren, enjoys going to movies, likes to travel and loves to laugh. In 2012, Sherry’s Take Shape For Life business was honored as the Best Home Based Business by the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. In 2014, Sherry was names as Ambassador of the year. She is looking to “pay it forward” by helping the great community of Lincoln through her involvement as an ambassador for the Lincoln Chamber.
